Ekiti Assembly Passes N113.6bn 2023 budget

Ekiti State State House of Assembly has passed the 2023 Appropriation Bill of N113. 6billion naira

The bill, made up of #79.5billion, representing 70% capital estimate and #34.1 billion, representing 30% recurrent expenditure, was presented to the lawmakers by Governor Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji on November 2, 2022.

The passage follows the presentation of the report of the House Committee on Finance and Appropriation that scrutinized the budget estimates.

Presenting the report, the Chairman of the House Committee on Finance and Appropriation, Lateef Akanle, said that Ministries, Departments and Agencies appeared before various Committees of the House to defend their estimates.

He added that the budget tagged, “Budget of Strong Beginning” covers all areas of the present administration agenda, and if implemented, would improve economic wellbeing of Ekiti peoples.
