Our efforts to get information from electoral commission being frustrated – Odinga Lawyers
Lawyers for Kenya’s opposition leader Raila Odinga, who is challenging the re-election of President Uhuru Kenyatta in the Supreme Court, have said their efforts to seek information from the electoral commission to support their case are being frustrated.
The court yesterday granted Odinga’s team limited access to the electoral commission, Independent Electoral and Boundary Commission server, which was used in managing the August 8 election, but they say that the order had not been complied with.
The Independent Electoral and Boundary Commission refuted the allegation saying that the team had been given access.
Another lawyer responded with a picture alleging that they did not have access to Independent Electoral and Boundary Commission office because it had its door firmly locked.
The opposition alleges that the presidential results were tampered with to give Kenyatta an advantage and that an audit of the voting system will prove their case.
