Edo Assembly crisis: Edwin Clark warns against anarchy
An Ijaw, leader Edwin Clark, has called on National Assembly against creating anarchy in Edo state.
The elder statesman was reacting to an order by President Muhammadu Buhari for Edo state governor Godwin Obaseki to issue fresh proclamation to the house of assembly.
Clark claimed that the order was unconstitutional and wrong.
He disagreed with the senate’s position on the assembly crisis.
In his letter to the senate president Ahmad Lawan, Clark noted that section 101 of the constitution allows every legislature to adopt its own house rules.
He, therefore, said the situation in the Edo assembly has not gotten to one in which the national assembly will invoke the constitution.
