Declaring #IPOB terrorist organization, unconstitutional – Saraki

Senate President, Bukola Saraki has declared as unconstitutional the categorization of Indigenous Peoples of Biafra (IPOB) as a terrorist organization by the Nigerian military.

Saraki also said the proscription of IPOB as a terrorist group by governors of the south-east is not in line with due process.

The Senate president in a statement states that the law makes clear provision for taking such action.

He says he is sure the president will take the right step by initiating the right process.

Saraki says the national assembly intends embarking on a fact-finding investigation to determine what exactly happens during the military exercise in the south-east.
