CPFAN flags-off cocoa, plantain processing in Abuja
The Cocoa and Plaintain Farmers Association of Nigeria (CPFAN) has held its national inauguration and flagged-off its cocoa and plantain processing factory.
The event also featured an award ceremony, in Abuja.
The national president of the association, Ayodele Ojo, described Nigeria as a blessed nation and called on stakeholders to effect processes that will put the nation’s vast resources to use.
The occasion was chaired by the Olofa of Offa, Oba Mufutau Oloyede Gbadamosi, while the chief host was the minister of agriculture and rural development, Mohammed Mahmood Abubakar.
The first phase of the scheme is scheduled for Ilara-Mokin in Ondo state, with the second and third phases billed for Ile-Ife in Osun and Iperu-Remo in Ogun state respectively.
Cocoa and Plaintain Farmers Association of Nigeria (CPFAN) is the apex body for many farmers that cultivate cocoa and plantain in 26 states of the federation and a membership strength of over 76,000.
