Court dismisses suit against conclusion of Bauchi Governorship election
A federal high court in Abuja has dismissed a suit filed by Bauchi state governor, Mohammed Abubakar and the APC challenging the decision of INEC to resume collection in the state governorship election.
The presiding judge, Justice Inyang Ekwu declined jurisdiction on the case.
Justice Ekwu disagreed with the plaintiff’s lawyer, Ahmed Aji that the suit related to pre-election matters.
INEC had declared the Bauchi state governorship election inconclusive on the grounds that the number of cancelled votes was higher that the margin of lead between the two top political parties.
