Competency Test: Buhari Backs El-Rufai’s Action On Teachers

President Muhammadu Buhari has backed Kaduna State Governor, Nasir El-Rufai’s planned sack of over 21,000 teachers who recently failed the competency test conducted by the state government.

Buhari made his position known on Monday at a special retreat of the federal executive council on the challenges facing the nation’s education sector.

He said it is not acceptable for teachers not to be better than their students.

The president asked participants at the retreat to come up with workable solutions to the numerous challenges facing the nation’s education sector.
