Buhari seeks confirmation of Adamu as CBN Deputy Gov
President Muhammadu Buhari has urged the Senate to screen and confirm the nomination of the Director (Human Resources) of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) Edward Adamu for appointment as Deputy Governor of the Apex bank.
The Senate President, Ahmad Lawan, read Buhari’s letter of request on the floor during plenary.
The President, according to the letter, said the request was pursuant to Section 8(1) (2) of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) (Establishment) Act 2007.
Buhari also asked the Senate to screen and confirm the nomination of Ambassador Ayuba Ngbako from the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) for appointment as a member of the Revenue Mobilization Allocation and Fiscal Commission (RMAFC).
Besides, the President also transmitted the 2023 Statutory budget proposals of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) to the Senate for consideration and approval pursuant to section 121 of the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria 1999 (as amended).
