BREAKING: Supreme court affirms Oyebanji as Ekiti governor

The Supreme Court has affirmed the election of Ekiti State Governor, Mr. Biodun Oyebanji of the All Progressives Congress (APC) as the winner of the June 18, 2022 governorship election.

The seven-man panel led by Justice Dattijo Musa Mohammed dismissed the appeal filed by the candidate of the Social Democratic Party (SDP), Chief Segun Oni.

Justice Dattijo said reasons for the dismissal of Oni’s appeal at the Apex court shall be given on a date to be communicated to parties later.

Other justices on the panel are in agreement with the judgment.

Governor Oyebanji had earlier won at the Election Petition Tribunal, the Court of Appeal before achieving victory at the Supreme Court.
