Al-Shabab fighters kill Nine Men in an overnight assault on a village –Police
Kenyan Police say suspected Al-Shabab fighters have killed nine men in an overnight assault on a village in the coastal district of Lamu.
Kenya’s interior ministry has imposed a curfew in three districts in the area following the attack.
Following the death in hospital of the country’s interior minister, Joseph Nkaissery, president Uhuru Kenyatta has appointed education minister Fred Matiangi as acting security minister.
President Kenyatta also assured the citizens that the government is assessing and addressing the situation.
