Akeredolu condoles Nigerian Army over loss of officers
Ondo state governor, Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, SAN has condoled the Nigerian army over the loss of three soldiers to a gun battle with militants in Ajakpa community.
While speaking at a condolence visit to the commanding officer of the 19 battalions, Okitipupa, governor Akeredolu described the death of the military personnel while providing security as regrettable.
Governor Akeredolu who was represented by his senior special assistant on security, Alhaji Jimoh Dojumo said the government will continue to provide logistic support to the military and other security agencies.
Commanding officer of the 19 battalions, Lieutenant Colonel Maaji, who was represented by Captain Michael Ogundele, thanked the governor for sharing in the grief of the Nigerian army at this difficult time.
He assured the governor of the military’s commitment to the discharge of their duties.
Meanwhile, the state government supported a soldier who sustained bullet wounds with 250,000 Naira and gave 500,000 Naira each to the families of the soldiers killed in the shootout.
