Adeosun denies tweet insulting Igbos

Minister of Finance, Kemi Adeosun has denied an insulting tweet aimed at the Igbos that purportedly emerged from her twitter handle.

The tweet claimed that she was delighted that the south-easterners were becoming more irrelevant in Nigeria’s economic setting.

In a statement by his media office in Abuja, Adeosun slammed the tweet and declared it as false.

She noted that the tweet was photoshopped in an attempt to drag her name into the mud.

Adeosun urged Nigerians to disregard the tweet, stressing that every part of Nigeria is important to its financial system and its economy.

She added that the federal government would support all regions to achieve their full potential.
