Ademola Adeleke Emerges Osun PDP Governorship Candidate
The deputy governor of Bayelsa Lawrence Ewuhrudjakpo, has declared Senator Ademola Adeleke, as the winner of the people’s democratic party primary election in Osun state.
Ewuhrudjakpo who is the returning officer of the exercise said Ademola Adeleke polled 1,887 votes to pick the ticket of the party for the July ,16th governorship election in Osun state.
Others aspirants,Dele Adeleke got 1 votes Dotun Babayemi 0,Akin Ogunbiyi scored 0 Fatai Akinbade polled 0 and Sanya Omirin got 4
Ewuhrudjakpo hinted that 1,916 delegates were accredited while 24 invalid votes were recorded.
In his acceptance speech senator Ademola Adeleke said the party is ready to take over the mantle of leadership from the ruling all progressive congress in the state.
Also in a parrallel election held by a faction within the party, Dotun Babayemi was declared winner of the party’s primary election.
While declaring the winner, the returning officer of the exercise Adelani Ajanaku said although the party already agreed to field Dotun Babayemi as a consensus candidate, some of the delegates still voted for other aspirants who had earlier stepped down.
