Adeleke sues for peace among residents of Osun
Osun state Governor, Ademola Adeleke wants Nigerians to embrace peace and shun behaviours that is inimical to the unity and growth of the nation
Governor Adeleke stated this at the 2023 armed forces remembrance day held in Osogbo the state capital.
The governor noted that the Remembrance Day is a day of sober reflection to consider the sacrifices of the soldiers who, in the quest for sustaining unity paid the supreme sacrifice to keep the country united and peaceful.
Governor Adeleke also lauded the patriotism and sacrifice of the personnel and men of the armed forces suing for peace and national integration among citizens of Osun and Nigerians at large.
He noted that his government will continue to provide support for the military, as well as for war veterans and their families, in recognition of their service to the nation.
Also speaking the Osun state chairman of Nigerian legion Oladipo Abidoye noted that inorder to curb insecurity in the country, the government at all level must provide basic amenities for the citizens.
Abidoye used the opportunity to call on government to provide support for retired soldiers as well as families of armed forces personnel killed in the fight against insurgency, banditry and other crimes.
