Venezuela’s Maduro thanks military for defeating’coup’
Venezuela’s president Nicolas Maduro has thanked the armed forces for staying loyal to him.
Maduro praised the military for helping to defeat a coup led by the US and opposition leader Juan Guaido.
He blamed Venezuela’s widespread power cut on cyber attacks by the opposition.
The president spoke during a day of protests in the country by pro-govt and opposition groups.
