Ekiti youths protest abandoned gas tanker at Igede-Iyin road

Residents of Igede and Iyin Ekiti are protesting the abandoned tanker filled with Gas which fell on the road linking the two communities and had caused difficulty for commuters.

The protesters who shutdown the road, vowed to remain on the road until the gas filled tanker which poses threat to them is removed.

The people said that they have been living in fears since the accident occurred, noting that the presence of federal fire service officials on the road could not curtail the adverse effects.

Ekiti State deputy governor Chief Monisade Afuye had earlier visited the scene of the accident where she ordered that the tanker should be confiscated.

She also ordered the security agencies to provide the owner of the tanker who is currently at large.
