China chemical plant blast kills 47

The death toll in a blast at a chemical plant in eastern China has increased to 47.

90 people are said to be severely injured.

Report says, the powerful explosion followed a fire at the factory, which produced fertilizer.

China’s earthquake administration reported a tremore equivalent to 2.2 magnitude at the time of the blast.

Meanwhile, industrial accidents ranging from factory fires to mining disasters are recently common in China, often due to poorly enforced safety standards.
