Over 80 people die as Iraq ferry sinks

Almost 100 people are reported to have lost their lives after a ferry sank in the Tigris river in Iraq’s city of Mosul.

The interior ministry informed that most of the victims were women and children.

Mosul’s civil defence agency disclosed that most of the people on board could not swim.

Not less than 19 children and 61 women were among those who lost their lives while 55 were rescued.
