Flying eagles to battle Mali in AFCON Semi Final clash
Nigeria’s Flying Eagles will face fellow West Africans Mali in the semi-final of the U-20 Africa Cup of Nations on Wednesday the 13th at the Stade Seyni Koutnche, Niamey.
Mali defeated Ghana 1-0 in their final group B game at the Maradi stadium to book a date in the last four with the seven time champions.
The Malians finished in second position in the group behind the Young Terengha lions of Senegal.
The Flying Eagles topped group a with seven points with two wins and a draw from their three group games.
Nigeria and Mali also clashed in the semi-final of the U-20 WAFU cup in Togo in December with the Flying Eagles winning 1-0 to reach the final of the sub regional tourney.
