Police Arrest Soldiers, 3 Others For Alleged Armed Robbery In Ondo
Police in Ondo State have arrested 5 suspected armed robbers, with two claiming to be officers of the Nigerian Army.
Three other members of the gang of eight, arrested along Owo/Akure express way via Ogun Camp in Eure, are at large.
The state Commissioner of Police Gbenga Adeyanju said their arrest followed a report that some people were terrorising people and Motorists on the highway.
He noted that investigation was ongoing to ascertain the claims of the two suspects claiming to be officers of the Army.
Items recovered from the suspects include One Hummer jeep, Army Uniforms, One Barreta Pistol among others.
Also Paraded, was a kidnap suspect Sunday Omojuba, whose other accomplices had already been charged to court.
Omojuba, according to Adeyanju had been on the wanted list of the police since 2016.
The Police police said all the suspects would be charged to court after investigation.
